Frequently asked questions
Which files and batch sizes are supported?
Select up to 30 JPG, PNG or static WebP images, up to 200 MiB total. Each file must be at most 30 MiB, 50 megapixels and 32,767 pixels on either side. You can mix these input formats.
Does PNG keep my WebP transparency?
Yes, existing transparent areas are retained. The converter does not remove an opaque background or reconstruct transparency that was never in the source.
Why is the PNG larger than the WebP?
The formats encode image data differently, and PNG copies can be larger. Choose PNG for a format or editing requirement, not as a guarantee of smaller files.
Will PNG recover details missing from WebP?
No. Conversion starts from the image your browser can decode. It cannot restore detail lost during an earlier encoding, and browser rendering can affect the result.
What happens to EXIF and photo orientation?
Conversion re-encodes the image and removes EXIF, including any stored camera or location details. Orientation is applied to the pixels. Keep the original if you need its metadata.
Does the tool preserve animated WebP?
