Which HEIC files and batch sizes are supported?
Select up to 30 HEIC or HEIF files, up to 300 MiB total. Each file must be at most 50 MiB, 64 megapixels and 32,767 pixels on either side. Damaged files and unsupported variants receive an error.
Are EXIF, location and orientation preserved?
HEIC conversion keeps EXIF by default, including location data if it is present. Auto Orient is on by default, and the saved orientation tag is set to 1. Select Strip metadata to remove metadata before sharing.
Will PNG be smaller than HEIC?
Often it will be larger. PNG is an output-format choice, not a file-size guarantee. You can set a KB ceiling, but reaching it may require smaller dimensions or may be impossible.
Does PNG output preserve all HEIC quality and data?
No such guarantee is made. The browser converts the decoded image to an 8-bit output, including when the HEIC source is 10-bit. Resizing and browser canvas limits can also change dimensions. Keep the original for its source detail and data.
How does compression work for PNG?
Changing a quality setting alone does not reduce PNG output in this browser workflow. Use dimensions or the maximum KB option when size matters. A tight KB limit may shrink the image and cannot always be reached.
Can I convert multiple images inside a HEIC file?
Yes, supported files with several main images produce numbered PNG files such as photo-1.png. Each successful result can be downloaded separately or included in a ZIP. Unsupported variants receive an error.
What is a HEIC file?
HEIC is a form of HEIF, the High Efficiency Image File Format, commonly used for photos on Apple devices. A file may contain more than one image and can include camera metadata.
How can I open a HEIC file?
Supported Apple devices can open HEIF photos in compatible apps, including Photos and Preview on a Mac. Support varies across other systems and apps. If the destination cannot open your file, convert it to a supported format.
What is a PNG file?
PNG stands for Portable Network Graphics. It is widely supported by browsers and image editors and can store transparency. A PNG copy of a HEIC photo may be larger, and this conversion does not preserve every property of the original.
How can I open a PNG file?
Open the downloaded PNG in a browser, your device’s image viewer or an image editor. Check the result in the app where you plan to use it. Keep the HEIC original if you need the source data later.
