Which HEIC files and batch sizes are supported?
Select up to 30 HEIC or HEIF files, up to 300 MiB total. Each file must be at most 50 MiB, 64 megapixels and 32,767 pixels on either side. Damaged files and unsupported variants receive an error.
Are EXIF, location and orientation preserved?
HEIC conversion keeps EXIF by default, including location data if it is present. Auto Orient is on by default, and the saved orientation tag is set to 1. Select Strip metadata to remove metadata before sharing.
Can I set a maximum size in KB?
Yes. Choose a quality level or a maximum KB size in the compression options. A tight KB limit may require smaller dimensions and may be impossible to reach. Successful size-limited results are checked against the selected limit.
Will the JPG match every detail of the HEIC?
Conversion creates a new image, and JPG encoding can change detail. A 10-bit source becomes 8-bit output. Browser canvas limits may also require proportional downscaling, which is marked in the result. Keep your original.
Does one HEIC always produce one JPG?
No. If a supported HEIC contains several main images, each is converted separately, with numbered names such as photo-1.jpg and photo-2.jpg. You can download each result or all successful images as a ZIP.
Can I choose PNG or WebP instead?
Yes. Change the output format for the batch or an individual file. PNG is also available on the HEIC to PNG page. WebP is available only if the browser supports encoding it.
What is a HEIC file?
HEIC is a form of HEIF, the High Efficiency Image File Format, commonly used for photos on Apple devices. A file may contain more than one image and can include camera metadata.
How can I open a HEIC file?
Supported Apple devices can open HEIF photos in compatible apps, including Photos and Preview on a Mac. Support varies across other systems and apps. If the destination cannot open your file, convert it to a supported format.
What is a JPG file?
JPG, also called JPEG, is a widely supported photo format. Its adjustable compression can change detail and file size. It does not preserve transparency or all the information a HEIC original may contain.
How can I open a JPG file?
Open the downloaded JPG with your usual photo viewer, browser or image editor. Check its appearance and dimensions before sending it to a form or app. Keep the HEIC original for future editing.
